Chef and owner Alan Wong opened this Honolulu Restaurant in 1995 with a commitment to work with local farmers and to serve as much locally grown and organic food as possible. Much of the food served today at this Oahu Restaurant comes from Hawaiian farmers and growers. Wong visits each farm to ensure that his high standards are met.
The results of that dedication to excellence ensures that every plate served to guests at his Honolulu Restaurant includes only the best quality, freshest ingredients and are prepared in creative and memorable ways. Alan Wong’s Restaurant offers both tasting and ala carte menus. The tasting menu is a wonderful way to become familiar with Wong’s style and with his take on Asian Fusion cuisine.
Those who choose to order from the ala carte menu will have several options. Appetizers such as Seafood Cakes or a Passion Fruit Shot can be followed by amazing entrees like Miso Marinated Butterfish, Macadamia Nut-Coconut Crusted Lamb Chops or Maui Cattle Company Beef Tenderloin.
Two tasting menus are available. The first, A Tasting of the Classics, includes 6 courses with tempting creations like Chopped Ahi Sashimi and Avocado Salsa Stack and Butter Poached Kona Cold Lobster. The indulgent Chef’s Tasting Menu features 10 courses such as Butter Poached Lobster and Caviar and Taro Pancake. Wine tasting is available with both of the tasting menus. Note that the Chef’s Tasting Menu is only available for the entire table.
Special events, such as the Farmer Series Dinners, feature menus in which 100% of the food comes from Hawaii. Visitors who will be in Honolulu during one of these special events have the chance to see the very best of what this Oahu Restaurant has to offer.
Customer reviews of Alan Wong’s Restaurant are highly favorable, and some say this Honolulu Restaurant provided the best dining experience they had during their stay in Hawaii. Reservations, which are recommended, are taken online or over the phone.
